about
Ok, after reading my previous post here, I'm sure that many people are worried about traveling to this colorful country. Ok, so I will write down my personal experience after this trip to India based on the points I used to worry about.
01. Don't Eat Carelessly
We must have been taught from childhood, yes, if you don't eat carelessly, don't snack on the side of the road because there is a lot of dust and dirt and much more. Everyone's stomach is different on average. When I come home from vacation from the US, then return to Medan, usually there are 1-2 days if Matt and I immediately eat rendang, we will get diarrhea but……of course because we really like spicy food so even if we get diarrhea, as long as there is Immodium and Norit, we are ok haha.
While in India as I expected, of course I got diarrhea, even though all my friends are not. I ate norit and it got clogged right away with no problems at all. Maybe I got the diarrhea from the samosas I bought in the morning and only ate it at night.
You know, I'm most afraid of getting sick when I'm traveling, that's also why I choose to eat cleaner food from restaurants or hotels. We only tried 2 times street food. After I got diarrhea on the third day there, all my friends immediately agreed without a problem that we would just go eat in a safe place haha.
Anyway, I also tried to be vegetarian while in India. I managed without any problems. It's easy being a vegetarian in India.
Tip: Buy food at a restaurant or at local stalls that are visited by many people. I don't eat salad or cut fruit for fear of stomach ache.
